Roland Cox is the main antagonist of the movie Jumper. He is black and has white hair. Roland is first seen entering the bank that a young David Rice had just robbed. He claims to be part of the NSA so that he can get the video surveillance to see how the bank was robbed but also most likely to confirm that a Jumper was responsible for the theft.
He is later seen chasing another Jumper through a jungle and catching him using a specialized weapon system designed to disrupt a Jumper's nervous system making it impossible for them to teleport. When questioned why he's doing this, Roland states that the Jumper is an abomination and that "only God should have the power to be all places at all times." before killing the Jumper.
Eventually, he manages to locate protagonist David Rice and after talking with him a quick fight ensues with David managing to jump away. Roland then heads to a police precinct to question David's childhood bully Mark who was arrested when David jumped Mark inside a bank vault and left him there. Mark eventually gives Roland everything on David.
After discovering where David's father, William Rice lives, he goes to question him. After interrogating him and discovering a picture of David's mom, Roland is surprised to hear that David's mom is Mary Rice, another Paladin. When William opens the door for Roland, he tells him that he'll contact him if he hears anything. However, Roland says that William won't to which William agrees. Roland then kills William offscreen.
Roland heads over to the bar where Millie works but, after seeing that she isn't there, he's told by one of the other bartenders where Millie lives. When Roland gets there, he uses a specialized spray that makes a Jumper's jumpscar visible. When he sees it, the other Paladins quickly bring in a device that can keep a jumpscar open enabling Roland to go through and a fight commencing between him, David and Griffin with the help of another Paladin starts. Just before Roland can kill David, Griffin appears and uses a flame thrower but Roland manages to get out of the way but the Paladin is killed. Roland is then knocked out of the lair by Griffin and then dodges a bus that was jumped by Griffin to avoid being crushed to death. The fight between Roland and Griffin continues when they go through the still opened jumpscar but Griffin manages to grab the device and smash it before returning to the lair. Before it fully closes, Roland uses a grappling device and sends it through the jumpscar where it grabs onto Millie pulling her through. After David jumps to the apartment he is captured but manages to jump Millie's entire apartment into the ocean then into the Ann Arbor library before teleporting Roland into a small cave in the Grand Canyon. What happens to Roland after that is unknown, but he likely have died.
